The process
Zero liquid discharge plants concentrate effluent in MVR evaporators and dry the salt in a dryer. The MVR blower is the heart of the evaporator, the dryer needs a hot air fan, and the odour from the treatment tanks goes to a scrubber.
The gas
Saturated vapour, often with dissolved solids and a low pH. Wetted parts in stainless steel, a shaft seal rated for the vapour, drain points and a casing designed for condensate.
Fans in this process
| Duty | What it does here | Type usually selected |
|---|---|---|
| MVR Blower | Recompresses the vapour leaving an evaporator so it can be reused as the heating medium. | Backward curved |
| Fume Exhaust System | Hoods, ducting and an exhaust fan that capture fume at source and deliver it to a scrubber, bag filter or stack. | Backward inclined and radial tipped |
| Mist Eliminator | Separates entrained liquid droplets from a vapour or gas stream, ahead of a compressor, a fan or a stack.. | Demister Knockdown Vessel |
| Ventilation Fan | Moves air through a plant or building for fresh air supply, heat removal and fume dilution where the system is ducted. | Backward inclined and forward curved |
| Hot Air Fan | Circulates or supplies air at elevated temperature to a dryer, oven or kiln. | Backward curved and backward inclined |
