The process
Fluid bed and endless chain pressure dryers fire the tea with hot air from a heater and exhaust the moist air with leaf fluff through a dust collector. Hot air fan on the supply, exhaust fan on the outlet.
The gas
Warm, humid air through withering troughs and dryers with light leaf dust. Large volume at low pressure; the fan is cleaned often, so access matters.
Fans in this process
| Duty | What it does here | Type usually selected |
|---|---|---|
| Hot Air Fan | Circulates or supplies air at elevated temperature to a dryer, oven or kiln. | Backward curved and backward inclined |
| ID Fan | Sits at the outlet of a boiler, kiln or furnace and draws the flue gas through the plant to the stack. | Backward curved, backward inclined and radial tipped |
| Dust Collector Fan | The fan behind a bag filter, cyclone or multiclone on a dust extraction system. | Backward inclined and radial tipped |
